I am currently doing a project at school about the local area. I am interested about the history of Temperance Hall ( now Regency House). I have had a look in Yeadon library but have not found a lot of information. I was wondering if anyone could help me learn the history of this building.

I look forward to hearing from you

Many thanks

Hi. I am looking for information regarding my grandfather Philip Nichols Adams (aka Brassy). He was born in Yeadon in 1880 then moved to London and from there, with his young bride from Norfolk, to Barry in South Wales. I have managed to trace her family back to Frome in Somerset 1756, but my grandfather ????.
One thing I am finding facinating about tracing families is how they moved about. How did my grandfather find out about jobs in South Wales, how did my grandmothers ancestors find out about jobs in Norfolk and how did they move from Somerset to norfolk

I am researching my paternal family history and have gone back to the census of 1861 where the record shows the address of my ancestors as 12 Cupping Shop Yeadon Yorkshire. The people at number 12 were Oliver Myers 27 years old, Phoebe aged 24 and Scott my great grandfather aged one year. It appears there is no such address these days and I wondered if any of your subscribers were able to help.

It also appears that Phoebe (nee Phabe or Phoebe Marshall) arrived in New Zealand with a new husband named William Roebuck along with her son Scott (John Scott). I think Oliver must have died and Phoebe remarried.

Anyway the address is the missing bit currently.
