Dave Breckin Location: Yeadon, Pennsylvania, USA Message: Yeadon is a lovely small town but nothing like YEADON PENNSYLVANIA. I visited there in 1991 travelling with friends on a tour of the north east of the U.S. when I'm better on this P.C. I'll post some photo’s I took. Contact Information: david.Breckin@btinternet.com |

Barry Jackson Location: Texas, USA Message: I was born at 6 Roydfield Terrace, now called part of Rufford Drive near Green Lane. I went to South View primary school from 1948/49 to 1951. Was not happy there so transferred to Littlemoor school in Rawdon. I remember going to the Temperance Hall picture house a few times. Does anybody have any history on that? I remember the carnival at Albert square, Yeadon Celtic. I remember the cricket field to the south of our house which is built up now, I believe, with houses called Cricketer's Green. Just once or twice I remember seeing trains ready to take people to Blackpool from our window. I also remember when the Bolton estate was built in the early 50s. My father lived in Henshaw Lane during the 1920s and 1930s. We left Yeadon in 1954 for Pontefract. I have now lived in Texas since 1984. Contact Information: KavJack@swbell.net |

Left Texas, now in Long Beach, southern California, where I can see the Pacific Ocean from my front lawn.

I too attended Yeadon South View school until 1953, then attended AGS. My company transferred me to the States in 1974. It was temporary for 12 -18 months, then became permanent. We spent two years (1977 - 79) living in Laguna Hills, and working in Irvine. I remember having a girlfriend who lived on the Bolton Estate.

I remember when they were building the Bolton Estate - around 1951/52. As a gang of kids we would fight and hide among the half-built houses.
